Day Trip Including Boat Safari at Madu River

Leave for 'Madu Villa' in the early morning. Boat Safari at Madu
Lagoon. (There are about 64 islands in the Madu River, where people
live in some islands. Amongst all these is the Temple Island, Snake
Island and the cinnamon island which is special. Entering the Mangrove
forest will be an unforgettable experience in your life, you can
see a lot of birds, water monitors, baby crocodiles and a bunch
of monkeys jumping away tree by tree) and then proceed by boat to
Crabs and Prawn's Square. Next boat stop is 'Koth Doowa' (it's a
small island in 'madu ganga' river, the island has a Buddhist temple
- consists of huge chipmunks, etc. around this particular area.
After Koth Doowa Island
we head to the Cinnamon Island - a various range of restaurants
where you can choose to have breakfast or lunch.
After the River Safari
proceed to the Turtle Hatchery in Kosgoda (you can see few kinds
of rare sea turtles, baby turtles and turtle eggs where you are
allowed to take pictures carrying some turtles to capture an experience.)
After this is a visit
to the Spice Garden, where you will have the opportunity to learn
about Herbal Plantation, Ayurvedic Medicine etc. You can also get
a head or body massage if you are interested and even buy some of
their products.
After visiting the Spice
Garden Next stop is the Mask Factory and the Museum in Ambalangoda,
and Batik Factory too (your choice)
Then you can go to visit
the Longest Lying (repose) Buddha Statue in Asia in Karandeniya.
After that Temple go to Visit the Moonstone mines in Meetiyagoda,
then Leave for Hikkaduwa, on the way Visit the Tsunami Museum (Tsunami
Train)
